It’s Never Enough
Why revenue must constantly be growing
Since the beginning of tech startups in the 1970s, revenue has been a touchy subject. Investors want more, founders want more, and eventually, shareholders want more.
This means progressing from non scalable to rapid growth.
1️⃣ At first, it is about solving a big enough problem where people will buy today.
For this step, you need a message that gets attention and a demo that closes 60% or more of prospective customers.
Founders must be present to learn from the sales process.
From 0 to $10 million in revenue.
2️⃣ The next step is a repeatable sales process.
Here, you write up everything learned from early sales into a process a SDR can repeat. Then use your message with ads, email, and social influencers to keep the pipeline full.
Founders must teach the first sales hires the process that works. Provide them leads and learn how to manage.
From $10 million to $50 million in revenue.
3️⃣ The last phase is automation.
Automation must come last so that the process can be fully understood by the founders and sales team. While ads automate pipeline, the process is expanded to include warming leads and other techniques prior to human contact.
The idea is to increase pipeline then auto filter those who do not have the problem you solve before wasting human time. As a result, pipeline is improved, and per call close ratio increases.
From $50 million to $100 million in revenue
After that, sales becomes a system that is beyond the scope of this newsletter.
